.NET Software Developers
Investors Capital is seeking .NET Developers to immediately join our quickly evolving
development department. These positions require motivated individuals up for many challenges
with a wide array of development skills. As a .NET Developer, you will work alongside
the Lead Developer as well as the rest of our development team.
Why write software at Investors Capital?
- Work with the best tools money can buy every day (Visual Studio 2010, SQL Server 2008, SharePoint 2010, etc.)
- Live with projects from start to finish. Don’t wade around aimlessly in a sea of legacy code
- Surround yourself in questionably unnecessary workstations, displays, and computing paraphernalia
- Soak up the support of a CEO focused on development as a top priority
- Join a team of passionate developers committed to blending great software with great business
Our CEO is committed to scaling up our in-house development efforts. Finding enthusiastic
individuals interested in shaping the growth of our budding team is Investors Capital’s
top priority. Functionally, our developers serve much like internal contractors
by tackling multiple projects sequential and/or simultaneously. The result is exposure to
many different aspects of the financial industry and the inner workings of an independent
broker dealer.
An ideal Investors Capital developer is...
- Committed to exceeding his or her own high standards of quality
- Always up for a collaborative brainstorming session with colleagues
- Enthusiastic about the benefits of Agile development methodologies (Scrum, FDD, etc.)
- An advocate of tight user-to-developer interaction
- Mildly offended by social stereotypes commonly associated with developers
- Well aware of when to ask for assistance from colleagues
- Incapable of ignoring ugly code that is ripe for refactoring
- Obsessive about monitoring and evaluating new development trends, technologies, and techniques
- No stranger to losing track of time while ‘in the zone’
- Above the use of paper – regardless of scenario
As a technology dependent financial institution whose primary offering is not software
based, we face challenges to our development efforts such as changing requirements and
scope creep. As a result, ideal candidates should embrace agile development methodologies
and be enthusiastic about tight developer-user interaction. We want developers who are
ready to bury themselves in problems until optimal solutions are found.
