Lynnfield, Mass. (August 4, 2011) — Investors Capital Holdings, Ltd. (NYSE Amex: ICH), a financial
services holding company, is adapting mobile technology to the conference arena. The firm is partnering with Core-Apps,
LLC of Arnold, MD to create an interactive smartphone application that will provide conference features, information, and
data to the attendees of their upcoming national conference on their phones instead of on paper. The password-protected
application, available for download on Apple, Android, and BlackBerry smartphones, will help Investors Capital save time
and money on printing costs, avoid waste, and further the company’s “going green” initiative to reduce paper usage in all
aspects of its business.
"Normally, all of our conference information is contained in a book thirty to forty pages in size. Multiply that by 500
attendees and that’s a lot of paper, money, and time. And it’s static: once you print it, you can’t change it," said Susan Richard,
Director of Conferences and Events for Investors Capital Corporation. “Now, all of that content is dynamic, continuously updatable
online, and available at the tap of a finger on your phone. The benefits to the firm are innumerable. Plus, people love it because
it’s edgy and cool. It fits our brand."
The interactive application contains an agenda, conference map, speaker bios, hotel and exhibitor information, photo gallery,
conference documents, and local places to go. Advertisers can place rotating banner ads atop the dashboard page that click through
to a landing page or to their website.
“This is the future of conference planning,” adds Richard. “We’re always looking for new ways to accomplish our goals, and this
application has spawned numerous other ways for us to utilize technology to take a quantum leap in improving our conferences in both
the planning stage as well as the experience for our attendees.”
Investors Capital’s national conference, entitled Climbing Your Everest, is being held August 7-9, 2011 at The Westin Copley
Hotel, Boston, Mass.
